Privacy Policy
Effective July 7, 2026 · CertRent is operated by InspireBlooms Inc. (New York)
CertRent is built around one principle: your data is yours. You choose what to verify, and you choose which landlords ever see it. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can delete it. If anything here is unclear, email info@certrent.com.
1. Who we are
CertRent is a service of InspireBlooms Inc., a New York corporation ("CertRent," "we," "us"). We are the data controller for the information described below.
2. What we collect
- Account information you give us: name, email, and whether you are a renter or a landlord.
- Identity verification data, only if you choose to verify your identity: a government ID image and a selfie/liveness check, processed by our identity provider Didit. We receive the verification result and limited identity fields; we do not build a separate biometric database.
- Bank-connected data, only if you choose to connect an account: read-only transaction and balance information used to confirm your rent history and income, accessed through Plaid. We never see or store your banking username or password — you enter those directly with Plaid.
- Reference data: contact details for landlord references you add, their responses, and the result of an ownership check we run against public New York City property records (ACRIS/PLUTO).
- Document & e-signature data: leases or references you create and send for signature, processed by our e-signature provider SignWell.
- Usage data: standard log and device information needed to run and secure the service.
3. How we use it
We use your information only to: build the verified profile you asked for; show verified results to landlords you choose to share with; create and deliver documents you request; operate, secure, and improve the service; and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that make verification work — Plaid (bank), Didit (identity), SignWell (e-signature) — each under contract and only as needed. We share your verified results with a landlord only when you create a share link or send your profile to them. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. We never sell your data.
5. Landlords and your profile
When you share your profile, the landlord sees your verified badges and summaries (for example, "rent history confirmed") — not your raw bank transactions or ID images. You can turn off any share link at any time. CertRent does not guarantee that any landlord will accept a CertRent profile, and sharing a profile does not create a tenancy.
6. How long we keep it & your controls
We keep your profile while your account is active. You can, at any time: turn off sharing, delete individual verifications, or delete your entire account and profile from your settings or by emailing info@certrent.com. When you delete your account we remove your personal data from active systems, except limited records we must retain for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
7. How we protect it
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and vetted providers. We handle financial data consistent with the GLBA Safeguards Rule and New York's SHIELD Act. No system is perfectly secure, but we design to collect the minimum and expose the least.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to withdraw consent. Exercise any of these by emailing info@certrent.com. CertRent is available to people 18 and older.
9. Changes
If we make material changes we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Questions: info@certrent.com.
This policy describes CertRent's current, pre-launch practices in plain language and will be expanded as the service grows. It is not legal advice.
